The primary purpose for this position is to support the University by establishing and maintaining a safe atmosphere for the faculty, staff, students, and visitors at WVU by providing police and security services.

This position requires the following:

  • Background Check
  • Drug Testing
  • Selected candidate(s) must successfully complete a pre-employment psychological evaluation before official hire date.
  • Applicant must pass physical agility testing prior to final offer.
  • Following hire, must qualify for attend, and complete West Virginia Basic Law Enforcement Academy within one year. The academy requires the applicant to pass a physical examination and be within a certain height and weight range.
  • Must be bondable upon background check.
  • Must be able to maintain law enforcement officer certification.
  • Must have and maintain a valid West Virginia drivers license.
