The Health Sciences Center at West Virginia University is looking for an Instructional Designer in support of the Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Nursing, and Public Health online and blended learning programs. This position will help oversee the design, development, and production of online and blended learning courses and develop and conduct faculty & staff workshops that align with E-learning tools and systems. Candidates must show strong initiative, exceptional communication skills and have the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously. Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills are also important. An outgoing personality, self-confidence and an enthusiasm for motivating people are also important attributes. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environmental and will be able to work independently, as well as with members of a team. This position will report to the Application & Web Support Manager in the Department of Information Technology Services. 

Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in a relevant field and a minimum of two (2) years of web-based instructional material design, development and deployment; one year (1) of course management tools (SOLE, Blackboard, Moodle, D2L, etc.); leading instructional material development tasks; matching eLearning technologies to instructional goals; and six (6) months designing and presenting workshops. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
