The Office of Information Technology at West Virginia University is seeking a Director of Information Technology Service Management (Director.306). This position will provide the leadership and vision to create, implement and manage the strategic direction for information technology user support. Reporting to the Executive Director for the Office of Information Technology, the Director of Service Management will work extensively with the user community to maintain the highest level of service and satisfaction. The Director will collect feedback on user needs, potential use-case scenarios, and user priorities to be integrated in the future direction for user support. The Director will implement tactical plans based on ITIL Service Management principles to best serve user needs while improving efficiency and customer satisfaction. The Director will serve as liaison to faculty, staff, and administrative groups through proactive engagement. The Director will oversee and assure the success of projects that reinvent the processes and standards used to repeatedly produce substantial improvements in customer service of OIT services. The Director will utilize multiple communications methods to reach all components of the user community and for situations ranging from routine to crisis communications. The Director will work closely with other information technology units and peers at other institutions.     

A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate discipline, with an MS degree or MBA being desirable. Knowledge of principles, concepts, and methodology of a highly technical, professional, or administrative occupation is indicative of this level.  Additional training in Information Technology Information Library (ITIL) or similar certifications is preferred.
