Summary:

West Virginia University Information Technology Services is seeking a talented LMS Application Administrator – Professional Technologist 4.117.  This is a technical position responsible for providing Application Administration, troubleshooting and support for complex information technology projects, Applications and Systems.  This includes Code Migration, Change Control, Application Security, Performance and Availability.  The successful candidate will research, recommend, and implement Application Configurations settings, Applications Roles and User Access.  This position will participate in the planning, testing and scheduling of Vendor Software releases, service packs, patches, and server add-ons.  This includes overseeing the installation of all system updates, upgrades, configuring building blocks, and other software integrated with the eCampus System. The incumbent will collaborate with technical and functional staff within eCampus as well as developers, database and systems administrators to ensure necessary backups and restores for each system are performed along with performing regular testing of business continuity plans for all production databases.  This position will work directly with faculty, students, and other eCampus users to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
eCampus is WVU’s mission critical eLearning system that is used by over 30,000 students and 5,500 faculty in both academic and administrative areas. eCampus is comprised of the core Learning Management System (LMS) as well as fourteen applications tools, and services that are used on the main campus, regional campuses, and with affiliates.

This position requires Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Electronics, Engineering, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. This position requires five (5) years of strong technical experience with programming languages, SQL scripting, Servers, Networking and LDAP.  The successful candidate must also have three (3) years of experience with application administration experience with Enterprise level Production Systems.  Two (2) years of experience with Web Technologies such as HTML, XML, JavaScript, PHP and CSS is also required.
