Information Technology Services at West Virginia University is seeking a Middleware Specialist (Prof Tech 5.38). This position will provide leadership of assigned Fusion Middleware (FMW) projects for the database and application administration team, and will assist with FMW project evaluation and implementation of new technology initiatives, including new development, implementations or system upgrades.  As project lead, this position will be required to meet with business owners and users to determine project requirements, assess and plan for resource requirements, create and maintain project plans and report project progress to management.  Per approved project plans, this position will also be required to request project resources and to direct the assembled team members by assigning tasks, ensure best practices are followed in installation and configuration, and review progress in order to complete the project successfully.  

A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Electronics, Engineering, or other science field or equivalent combination of education, certifications and work experience. A Master’s Degree is preferred.  Applicants should have 6 years of experience building and supporting WebLogic clustered environments in diverse systems; building and designing Oracle Service Bus, Oracle Internet Directory, Oracle Identity Management, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Oracle SOA Suite; designing, building, and implementing service oriented architecture using Oracle FMW with integration methods and techniques to Oracle eBusiness Financials and HR/Payroll Suite with SOA Gateway/Public API, and interface tables.

In addition, this position will function at the expert level performing research, planning, installation, configuration and maintenance of FMW technologies in a highly integrated Oracle environment; research and establish plans to install new security patches and releases for fusion middleware servers; evaluate user requests for security access and coordinate with Database Administrators and Application Administrators to complete approval process; responsible for establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with a variety of audiences within and externally to WVU’s IT units.
