West Virginia University Office of Information Technology is seeking a Web Developer. This position reports to the Director of Communications for the office of the CIO. Primary responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and supporting applications for the Internet/intranet sites for the Provost’s office, CIO, and the Office of Information Technology.
A Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design or a related field is required. An equivalent combination of higher education, work experience in related areas, and/or applicable certifications, in any combination, may be substituted in lieu of the degree requirement. Applicants should have 2 years of experience in the following areas: working on Web design in Photoshop, Sketch, or Fireworks; using designs in a content management system; writing CSS3; and converting Photoshop templates to HTML and CSS.
Additional responsibilities include: Gathering and analyzing requirements; programming all or selected components of Web applications; documenting components and applications; developing automation techniques to enable end-user content publishing; programing, testing and implementing mapped graphic images, forms and HTML pages; handling client browser support inquiries; maintaining links to external sites and accuracy on internal links while ensuring up-to-date information; researching, evaluating and recommending new Internet tools and applications for use in assigned responsibilities.
