West Virginia University invites applications for the position of Associate Athletic Director for Student Services. Duties and responsibilities include administering the operation and conduct of the Student Services (academic support) division of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and implementing programs that contribute to the educational and personal growth of student-athletes.  Operational oversight of two academic centers and supervision of fourteen (14) full-time staff is expected.  This position will coordinate the University’s NCAA Academic Performance Program.  In addition to the academic and student services responsibilities, administrative sport oversight and supervision will be assigned to one varsity sport.  Duties include, but are not limited to, scheduling, supervision of coaching staffs, budget oversight, student-athlete well-being and development initiatives, and administration of postseason championships.  This position will serve as a member of the senior athletic administrative staff and will work closely with the administration to carry out the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program.  This is a twelve (12) month position.

Master’s degree is required, preferably in education, social science, counseling or similar field.  PhD or EdD is preferred. Minimum of six (6) years experience in counseling, advising, teaching, tutoring or otherwise instructing student-athletes in a higher education environment is required.
