The Rational Drug Therapy of the WVU School of Pharmacy is seeking a full time pharmacist. Responsibilities of the position include: Reviewing and analyzing prior authorization requests, clinical interactions with healthcare providers, data entry, and assisting in the establishment of clinical guidelines for use of prescription drugs. The incumbent will also provide drug information and education to WV medical providers regarding the use of medications within established disease state and preferred drug list guidelines.
The position requires a WV pharmacist license or the ability to obtain one. PharmD degree is preferred but a B.S. degree with one year of clinical experience is acceptable. Incumbent must possess excellent verbal communication and problem solving skills; clinical experience is preferred. Weekend and/or evening hours will be required. Salary is based on experience and is competitive with hospital practice rates. The position offers opportunities for research, quality peer interactions and professional development.
