The Office of Equity Assurance within the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is seeking a motivated professional for the position of Investigator. The Office of Equity Assurance is responsible for protecting all applicants, employees and students at West Virginia University from discrimination, harassment and sexual misconduct in compliance with federal, state and University laws and mandates.
The Investigator reports to the Director of Equity Assurance and will conduct professional investigations in response to complaints of illegal discrimination and harassment involving WVU applicants, employees and students on the Morgantown campus, the divisional campuses and the statewide extension system. This position will also conduct training relevant to the work of the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion with emphasis on compliance activities.
The incumbent must have a master’s degree in personnel, social work, education, criminal justice or a related field, or have an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Additionally, three years of experience investigating complaints or allegations is required; three years of experience with issues related to personnel, discrimination or sexual misconduct is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required for travel across the state.
