West Virginia University Student Affairs is seeking a driven and talented Assistant Director. The successful candidate will plan, coordinate, and direct all building operations within WVU’s Student Union (Mountainlair).  The primary responsibilities of this position will be supervising and managing the operation of the Mountainlair’s recreation center, night operations, cash operation, as well as assuming overall administrative responsibility in the Associate Vice President’s absence.  Additionally, the selected candidate will serve as a member of the Associate VP’s budget & executive management teams, assist with the coordination of Mountainlair events and activities, serve as the main point of contact for all maintenance and housekeeping within the facility, and assist the Associate VP in developing an overall strategic plan for the Mountainlair.

The Successful candidate must possess a Master’s Degree in Student Personnel, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, related field, or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. A minimum of four (4) years progressively responsible experience in large facility administration/operations, preferably in a student union environment or related facility of comparable size to WVU’s student union, to include management and supervisory experience as well as experience with cash operations and managing budgets is required.
